January has been a rough month. I lost my aunt. We had planned to see each other again in South Africa, where she fed wild monkeys bananas in her garden every morning. It’s hard to lose someone that shined so brightly. My aunt was a wise lady, and she often said, “seize the day.” I’m taking her advice to heart, with my head down on my own path.
This year is about doing the exact opposite of what makes me feel safe, secure or comfortable – and that’s not just travel related. I’ve got a number of goals in motion. Travel has always been a huge part of my identity, so there is a big trip planned down the road that will be unlike any other, but this is not all about travel. Adventure can be found in work, food, relationships or day-to-day living.
I’m working on a lot of things that time will soon reveal.
